Moodle RUG: Martin Dougiamis Update

Last week, I attended the summer Moodle RUG (London). Martin Dougiamis (Moodle Founder and Lead Moodle developer) gave the following insights into the development of Moodle over the next year.

  • Grade book revamp: The gradebook revamp has been long overdue and reflects the shift of scale Moodle has had since its initial incarnation as a localised project with a handful of users to worldwide multi-platfrom VLE solution. Version 1.9 (hopefully by christmas) promises a new flexible system whereby grades are pushed to a central table from anywhere in Moodle. Another new feature within this is the concept of completion, whether of task or course that will allow multiple activities to contribute to a single assessment.

Much of it has been written with BTEC - type course in mind.
